Cotton pillow fill is raw cotton fibre prepared in one of three constructions, and the construction matters more to the finished pillow than the cotton does.

What is the fibre itself?

Seed-hair fibre from the Gossypium genus, prepared for filling rather than for spinning, so staple matters differently.

Fibre destined for yarn is selected for spinnability. Fibre destined for a pillow is selected for bulk and resilience, which is why a spinning-grade staple figure does not transfer cleanly to a fill.

How is organic cotton different in a pillow?
